About Me
Scott Bramlett, MS, AFC
Accredited Financial Counselor
I initially learned to manage money well by watching my mom model for me over time. My dad, on the other hand, didn’t manage money wisely. After he died, it took my mother years to pay off the debts my father had accumulated. In high school I took a class in accounting and discovered I had a talent for numbers and finances. Subsequently, in college, I majored in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. By the completion of my Bachelor’s Degree, I realized that accounting was not my passion which was confirmed by my first paid professional position as a tax auditor.
Being a person with a disability I did not utilize any support services available to me up to this point in my life. However, I was now forced to reevaluate the direction of my life. I began looking into options to assist people with disabilities like myself with their life, education, and career. I developed a passion to assist people with disabilities reach their goals and avoid having to make the mistakes I did which ultimately led me to complete a Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. As a result, I counseled students with disabilities in the California community college system for over thirty years.
As I have worked with students as well as people in general over the years, one of the common themes that has emerged is that many people lack fundamental financial literacy on how to manage money effectively. I completed my Accredited Financial Counselor (A.F.C.) certification to work with low and middle-income individuals and couples, as well as, individuals with disabilities. I desire to assist those who struggle with managing money to educate and coach them to take control of their financial lives. Then, they have the opportunity to live the life they have dreamed of, but didn’t realize was attainable. As we walk together in this new direction of their financial journey, they will acquire the tools and confidence to manage their money effectively for themselves to ultimately live debt-free with a high net worth like myself.
I want to thank my wife, Nancy. Without Nancy’s on-going input, encouragement, perspective, and computer skills Integrity Financial Coaching LLC would never have become a reality. She is my cheerleader when I feel discouraged. In our marriage we work together as partners combining our individual strengths. I take the lead on our family’s finances taking into account her perspective, and I promise Nancy I won’t try to fix something around the home. Nancy and I work as a team, and I will endeavor to help the couples I serve to be a team as well regarding their finances.
